Gifts to Spotlight: 1983 and Earlier contribute to...

These pioneers are a foundational group of athletes whose grit and determination laid the groundwork for the program we know today. Against the backdrop of the early years of Title IX and the burgeoning landscape of women's athletics, they forged a path of excellence that continues to shape the legacy of Ohio Softball today.
From 1974 to 1983, their era was marked by achievements and record-breaking performances. With a collective record of 147-77-1, they epitomized the Bobcat spirit on the field. Among them, Gale Killmeyer and Marsha Coultrip etched their names into history, boasting the top two hitting averages in Bobcat history. Meanwhile, Tracey Judd claimed the second-lowest earned run average with a stellar 1.57 from 1979 to 1981. Coaches Joyce King, Nancy Schaub, Kim Brown, and Karen Stadeck each left an indelible mark.
As we celebrate 50 years of Ohio Softball, let us honor the legacy of these pioneers who dared to dream and redefine the possibilities for women in sports. Their contributions have shaped the fabric of our program, inspiring generations of Bobcats to strive for greatness. Join us in honoring their legacy and ensuring that Ohio Softball continues to thrive for another 50 years.
