About

Ohio University’s Veterans Services Support Fund allows the Veterans and Military Student Services Center flexibility to provide programming, services, and support that are not otherwise supported through operational budget. For example, keeping the Veterans Lounge stocked with snacks, beverages, water, printer paper/supplies, in addition to providing veteran graduation stoles for our students to wear at commencement.

Out of the roughly 600 veterans and currently-serving members enrolled at OHIO campuses, approximately 60 of these students need help throughout the academic year.

During the home football game on Oct. 21, President Lori Stewart Gonzalez and OHIO welcomed home members of the Bobcat family who just completed a year-long deployment to the Middle East (Iraq/Syria) as members of the Ohio National Guard’s 37th Brigade Combat Team

Some Facts about Veterans at OHIO:

Student Voices

"The Veterans Lounge has allowed me to have a space to decompress from the large presence of students on campus.  It provides me the opportunity to share comradery with folks who have the same experience." — Meredith Darrah, Ohio Air Guard member

"The Veterans Lounge has enabled me to be a productive and healthy student veteran.  Access to the resources in the lounge and the assistance from the members of the Veterans Center staff has enhanced my academic and student experience." — Ethan Barnes, US Army Veteran

If you are interested in supporting the Veteran’s Center for years to come, please consider naming a room within the Veteran’s Lounge. Various spaces are available, and can be named after you or in honor of a veteran or military-affiliated person in your life. Named spaces have the potential to provide one-time support to the Lounge, or create an endowed account that will provide funding in perpetuity. Please contact Maggi for more information about this unique opportunity.
