About

What's soft, stylish, and makes a difference for OHIO students? This year's student-designed Socktober socks.

Every day, Ohio University students rely on donor support for scholarships, emergency assistance, research opportunities, student organizations, and one-of-a-kind learning experiences. During Socktober, your gift to the OHIO fund that means the most to you helps students succeed while earning you a pair of limited-edition socks designed by current students.

Give Before Oct. 31. Get Socks. Change Lives.

🧦 Give $30+ and receive your choice of one exclusive Socktober sock design as our thanks.

🧦🧦🧦 Give $100+ and:

  • You'll receive all three student-designed sock styles as our thanks
  • A student will get a pair of Socktober socks through the Cats' Cupboard Food Pantry

Every step you take in these socks helps students take a step toward their future. Whether you wear them to the office, a game, on a hike at Strouds or around the house, you'll be showing your Bobcat pride while investing in opportunities that make the OHIO experience unforgettable.

You get comfy feet. Students get life-changing support. Everybody wins.

ABOUT THE DESIGNS

This year's Socktober designs are bold, cozy, and 100% Bobcat (figuratively, of course). Created by current students, each design reflects the creativity, talent, and hands-on learning opportunities that donor support helps make possible at OHIO.

During the 2025-26 academic year, a group of OHIO students were challenged to create and pitch original Socktober sock designs. Our three winning designers worked alongside University Advancement staff to gain real-world experience in design, fundraising, public speaking, presentations, and project management.

The result? Three unique sock designs that showcase Bobcat pride while celebrating the power of experiential learning at OHIO.

You Can Double The Good This Socktober

Cats' Cupboard, part of OHIO's Basic Needs Program, helps students access food and other essential resources when they need them most. By providing support in a welcoming, judgment-free environment, the program helps remove barriers that can impact student well-being and success.

A gift of $100 or more to any fund through Socktober provides a pair of OHIO socks to a student in need. If you want to have an even greater impact on the basic needs of OHIO students, you can give to the Cats’ Cupboard Food Pantry Fund, the Tom and Jan Hodson Student Adversity Fund, the Ohio University Student Emergency Fund, or another emergency fund that help meet students’ immediate needs. Your generosity helps students through challenges while sharing a little Bobcat warmth.
