Your support will help get Russ College students to NSBE's 50th Annual Convention in Atlanta
When you give to this campaign, you’re helping to offset the cost of travel, room and board, meals, and convention fees. Your gift will remove financial barriers, providing access to this transformational event where our students will benefit from professional development, career development, gain critical networking skills, and much more.
Your gift to the Russ College of Engineering and Technology Student Support Fund will help to INCREASE the number of students we’re able to send to the Annual National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) convention taking place March 20-24 in Atlanta, GA. Traditionally, 5 students would attend NSBE. Last year, because of donor support, 7 students were able to attend this life-changing convention. This year it is our goal to send 10 students.
Gifts of any amount will help to put this unique opportunity within reach for students who may otherwise would not be able to consider making this trip. Thank you!
Sharing on behalf of Christopher Lawrence-White, OU’s NSBE Chapter President
Because of your thoughtful donations, our chapter’s desire to attend the annual conference went from a dream to reality. The $5,000 that you contributed was life changing. I want to extend a massive Russ College thank you to our supporters and stakeholders. I am pleased to say that the #NSBE50 conference in Atlanta was a resounding success — and you’re to thank for that!
The cohort of 11 Bobcat students arrived in Atlanta, with each student hoping to find an experience that would positively impact them — motiving them to achieve more in their OU college career (and beyond).
As you may know, this national conference also encompasses a job fair that hosts 400+ companies, all of which are seeking to connect with or hire some of the nations’ thousands of BPOC students.
As the chapter president, I’m honored to share that OU students took full advantage of this conference and engaged with some of the nation’s most prestigious engineering companies. Our students secured interviews and were offered summer internship positions. Because these students were in Atlanta at this conference – with donor support helping to get them there – great things happened. Thank you!
Our NSBE chapter is forever indebted to you. The gratitude our students have for Ohio University, Russ College, and for donors, is immeasurable. Thank you all for believing in us students and the mission of OU’s NSBE Chapter! Go Bobcats!
